Reeth is situated in the heart of beautiful Swaledale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The village has good amenities, making it an ideal base for exploring Swaledale and Arkengarthdale.

	Traditional farming methods still prevail in Swaledale. The flower-rich hay meadows of Upper Swaledale make a spectacular sight in early summer. On the higher ground, sheep farming and grouse moors are the main land use.

Lead mining was a major industry in the area up until the end of the 19th century. The relics of the Dale's industrial past are easy to find and add a fascinating additional aspect to the dramatic landscape.
